There is a new EU law caller PPWR that is destroying the livelihoods of artists and artisans in global scale! Please help by signing a petition . The EU will commission will consider the matter in October and we need votes from all over the world as this affects all of us.

Already my entire global supply network has stopped shipping to the EU. My Instagram feed is nothing but micro businesses announcing shipping bans to EU or closure of business entirely. I had to take EU shipping down on my website too, but I assure the EU customers who have a OOAK doll in the current commission queue: I will travel to you by train if necessary to deliver your doll if necessary!

Depressingly, this means that my access to doll casting is over. My tiny caster cannot shoulder the new bureaucraZy. I don't know if I can continue my doll making career. But its not just Inamorata Dolls that suffers. Millions of little businesses around the world lost the EU as a source of income. Artists and artisans will all lose their livelihoods. My Instagram feed today had nothing but different artist's announcements that EU sales were closed. Its heart breaking.

The new PPWR law and the problem it causes:

On August 12, 2026 a new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and strict Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) rules went into full effect. On paper, the goal is great: reduce waste and make companies responsible for their packaging. In reality, the execution is a bureaucratic nightmare that is actively destroying cross-border trade for micro-businesses. Under the law if you send even one package to an EU country, you have to register in that country's unique system, pay an annual fee and hire an "Authorised Representative"living in that country. And you do this to each one of the 27 countries separately! There is no more £free movement of goods" across EU. No single EU register. Most importantly, unlike VAT thresholds, there is no exemption for small businesses. In short, only drop shipping empires like Amazon and Temu will survive. Everything that was creative, innovative, or sustaining old craftsmanship will die.
